Susan Smith, award winning sewist will be our guide. Here are a few words from Susan about her history with sewing:

I have been sewing for 50+ years and credit my love of sewing to my mom.  In addition to sewing for myself and my family, I have:

  • Mentored 4-H sewers at all levels

  • Judged 4-H sewing at the county level and the Indiana State Fair Make-It-With-Wool contest

  • Designed and sewn Western Pleasure horse show outfits for my daughter

  • Sewn a christening gown using heirloom sewing techniques

  • Won the Indiana Make-It-With-Wool contest numerous times

  • Won the National Make-It-With-Wool contest in 2011

  • Used couture sewing techniques to sew a Chanel inspired jacket

  • Sewn wedding gowns for my daughter and my daughter-in-law

I retired in 2021 after 26 years of teaching 8th grade math. When I am not sewing, there is a  good chance I am weaving or knitting. My husband and I raise Quarter Horses and live with our two collies in rural Burnettsville.
